About me

My name is Hongliang Wang, and I go by Liang. I am a mathematics graduate, having recently completed a Master’s degree by research under the supervision of Bryce Kerr at UNSW Canberra, Australia. I am scheduled to begin my PhD in August 2026. Here is my CV.

My primary research focus is in analytic number theory, complemented by interests in arithmetic combinatorics, dynamical systems, and harmonic analysis, with particular emphasis on their interactions. Please refer to Research for more information.

Fun fact: I once attempted Erdős Problem #534, which was listed as unsolved; after some not-so-successful efforts, I discovered that it had in fact already been proven in the literature (I informed the site maintainer, and the problem is now listed as solved). In line with recent AI practice,
